How to write product descriptions that sell.
A strong product description does three jobs: it helps the buyer understand the product, answers the objections that stop a purchase, and gives search engines clear context.
Start with the buyer’s situation
Do not begin with generic praise. Start with what the buyer is trying to do: organize a kitchen, dress for daily office wear, protect a phone, feed a pet, decorate a room, or solve a recurring problem.
Use a simple structure
- One sentence that explains the product and use case.
- Two to four benefit paragraphs with specific product facts.
- A short list of specifications, care, size, compatibility, or ingredients.
- A closing line that tells the buyer who the product is best for.
Make claims specific
Instead of “premium quality”, explain the material, finish, capacity, warranty, packaging, or usage condition. Specific details build trust and create natural keyword coverage.

Editing checklist
After using AI, edit for product truth. Remove exaggerated claims, add missing measurements, check marketplace policy-sensitive language, and make sure the first sentence explains the product clearly. The final description should sound like a knowledgeable seller, not a generic ad.
Next step
Use keywords first, then write the description, then score the full listing. That sequence prevents keyword stuffing and improves conversion clarity.
